Clinical Practice Guidelines
Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) are recommendations intended to optimize patient care. They are meant to help ensure that patients receive appropriate treatment. They may include recommendations on the diagnosis and treatment, medication optimization, psychosocial support, rehabilitation and follow-up care. CPGs are not intended to replace proper specialist consultation, physical examination and prescription. CPGs are for the use of physicians and specialists only. Any misuse or misunderstanding may be detrimental to patients.
